Our Beliefs

Student's developmental learning, academically and socially, is the chief priority for the school which will allow the students to demonstrate the ability to identify, set, pursue and achieve short and long term goals.

Students' learning needs, academically and socially, should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school. It is our mission to provide a program that will motivate and challenge each student's academic ability.

All students can and do learn.

Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.

Cirriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accomodate differences in learning styles and allow the students to demonstrate problem solving, and decision making skills.

Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

Exceptional students (e.g., special education, limited English proficiency, talented and gifted, etc.) require special services and resources.

Positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff enahnce a student's self-esteem.

A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

Students are encouraged to learn to make appropriate decisions given a supportive and challenging environment, providing opportunity for students to excercise leadership within a diverse community, which will allow him/her to compete in the 21st century workplace.

Cultural diversity does increase students' understanding of different persons and cultures. We shall cultivate a lifestyle of personal responsibility, respect and judgement with appreciation for the uniqueness.

Schools need to function as a learning organization and promote opportunities for all those who have a stake in the success of the school to work together as a community of learners.

Schools need to maintain a positive, energized, safe learning environment that will allow the student to build and exhibit self-confidence, self-esteem and flexibility as a learner and as a person.

The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative for our school to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.
